Hi there! We are El and Sally, and we are very proud to present you with Over the Hedge, our brand spanking new cut flower business, coming to you from a field just outside of Sheffield. We are growers and florists on a mission to bring colour and joy to people's lives with our vibrant, locally grown bouquets! Both market gardeners and veggie growers by trade, we decided to turn our hand to flower growing last year (2021) in search of a new challenge. And now we are hooked! Everything happens here at Over the Hedge, we create healthy soils, sow seeds, tend to the plants, cut the flowers, condition, arrange and deliver our finished product - colourful, fresh bouquets! Our flowers are grown organically, exposed to the elements, the sun, wind and rain, the insects, the birds... It’s riskier this way, with less control, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! By buying our flowers you are helping to support biodiversity in your local area, knowing your flowers have not been sprayed, or flown across the world. You can enjoy the colour and scent with a clear conscience. Our flowers keep us busy from Spring through till Autumn, with bunches available for sale from July till October, plus keep an eye out for our dried arrangements later in the year! Our seasonal bunches are available in both Moss Valley Market Garden and Sheffield Organic Growers veg bag schemes, at Beanies Wholefoods shop and appearing at local markets, Pollen and Nether Edge Farmers Market. Also in the pipeline are PYO (Pick Your Own) cut flower days, where you can visit our flower patch for an afternoon and walk away with a bucket of completely unique, fresh stems picked by you.
